Irish Music at the September Cafe
September 9, 2017
We always have a great time when our friends Hilari Farrington and Benedict Koehler come to entertain us with their traditional Irish instruments and music. The husband and wife team gave engaging talks about the origin of their beautiful Irish harp, accordion and bagpipe. They played older music from the oral traditional style as well as newer tunes such as the familiar "Danny Boy."
This month, we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the very first memory cafe, in The Netherlands. Find out more about the origin and history of Memory Cafes on our History of Montpelier Memory Cafe page. We had a delicious yogurt cake to mark the occasion!
Thanks again to Hilari and Benedict for their kindness and generosity. We appreciate them so much. To hear their lovely music, visit Bagito's Bagel and Burrito Cafe in Montpelier, Vermont on Saturday afternoons between 2 and 5 PM.
